Yolanda
Powell has been dedicated to Transforming Lives by the
Power of the Spoken Word! for nearly twenty years. As President
of The Spoken Word International, she brings a unique and
well-balanced ability to the art of Chrisitan communications.
In recent years she has proven to be a pioneering forerunner
as she brings biblical instruction ‘front and center’
through her writing and speaking workshops, scriptural arts
seminars, youth evangelism training, and family empowerment

Yolanda
is a called and equipped disciple of Jesus Christ with a strong
dedication to teaching the precepts of Holy Writ while evangelizing
the lost. Openly passionate and demonstrative, she seeks to “gather”
the people of God around the eternal flame of His Holy Word through
life-changing illumination and instruction! Her teaching anointing

of Scripture, maintaining a powerful prayer life, family strengthening,

enrichment and the Christian life. In February, 2003 her first
trade book, Soul Food & Living Water: Spiritual Nourishment
and Practical Help for African American Families, published
by Focus on the Family & Moody Press was released on the national
market. This unique resource is brimming with sound biblical teaching
and practical examples to refresh African American believers in
their walk with Christ and overall family life. As an inspirational

for her unique contributions to the Scriptural Arts. In this venue,
she performs creative monologues and oral interpretations from
extended passages of Holy Scripture. Yolanda has a profound ability

a manner that is both memorable and life-changing. Her dramatic

Yolanda
is married to Pastor William J. Powell and is the mother of three teenage
sons: Joseph, Jeremy & Jordan. She is a native of West Palm
Beach, Florida and a graduate of Clark-Atlanta University. Currently, Yolanda is a pursuing a master's degree in ministy leadership at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland. The Powell's lead a unique and growing church fellowship in Calvert County, Maryland known as the Church of the Rock @ Calvert. They are committed to "equipping the saints, expowering each for service and enlarging them to the full stature of Christ."
